Nature is a powerful entity, so much so that people in ancient times used to worship and pray to it considering it as a sort of God. People would often show their devotion and pay their respects due to the fact that they used to greatly benefit from its resources such as water, sunlight, etc that is important to the living.
The primary types of resources that we use as human beings are natural resources. These are the resources that are available within nature itself, without any intervention from us. Air, water, and sunlight are some examples of them.
Another important resource that people have come to understand and use efficiently is human resources. Nature provides us all with enough to survive and we carry energy to do other things. Human resource is a new concept that aims at understanding people in their work and making the best of what is available.
These days, the hiring process has also become easier for people to join a team without the hassle of too much paperwork due to onboarding automation processes, saving a lot of time, money, and resources.
Using humans as a resource is a very skillful and intelligent thing to do because as humans, we carry a lot of potential in terms of intelligence, skills, creativity, and authenticity.
WHAT IS A RESOURCE
Basically, anything that is available in abundance to use or benefit from is called a resource. Resources can be of various types depending on how much of them are available to us and upon whether they can be replenished in any way without our intervention.
Natural resources are the resources that we find in nature. They are broadly classified into two categories, renewable and non-renewable resources.
Renewable resources are those resources that can be renewed and will not exhaust any time soon while non-renewable resources are generally the ones that either cannot be replenished or are replenished at a very slow rate, such that if exhausted, the human race may need to live without them for a long time.
Examples of renewable resources include things that are available to us in an unlimited amount like sunlight, wind, biomass, and geothermal. Water is also an example of a renewable resource simply because just like the others, it is also replenished quickly over a short period of time.
Non-renewable resources include things like petroleum, coal, natural gas, oil, and nuclear energy. Either they are available in very limited quantities or their production takes a very long time such that they cannot be replenished easily.
HUMANS AS RESOURCE
Another resource available to work with and benefit from are human beings. Just like every other living organism, humans also depend on nature for basic resources like food and water, but our minds are highly evolved and capable of great inventions.
These days, there is a lot of work that goes into making a team and using the available manpower to its best. Not every person is capable of everything but every individual does carry their uniqueness and creativity in a way that no other person is capable of.
This makes it important to understand the strengths and weaknesses of individuals and navigate through them in order to get the best results.
Onboarding automation has made the work of professionals working in the field of human resources significantly and has also made it more efficient. There is no need for unnecessary paperwork anymore and even resources like paper are being saved with the help of technology.
MORE ABOUT THE NATURAL RESOURCES
Nature provides us with the necessary resources like air to breathe, water to drink, and sunlight as a very efficient form of energy to be utilized for various living processes. In most cases, we also depend for food on nature as we eat plants or animals which is again a further use of modified energy from the sun.
In the world today, most people are unaware of the sustainable usage of resources in a way that ensures that the generations to come will also get to use them. People have become careless towards their needs and thus, many resources are being exploited and used at a rate that is far too dangerous.
One example is the use of water that is occurring at a global scale and finishing up the water reservoirs like underground water. Sure water is a renewable energy resource, but even those need time to be replenished naturally on the planet.
People should be more careful and aware of their usage when using any kind of natural resources and also teach the younger generation to be careful about their needs.
